Millions of Americans across a 113 km corridor, spanning from Oregon, in the west, to South Carolina, in the east, watched as the sky darkened and the sun disappeared from view during a total solar eclipse on Monday, August 21. It was the first coast-to-coast total solar eclipse in the US in 99 years and lasted over two minutes in the path of totality. The next North American total solar eclipse will take place on April 8, 2024.
