Atlas Copco Power Technique offers mobile electric compressors in addition to its diesel range, enabling customers to select the most suitable solution for a specific job application.

Power Technique business line manager: portable products David Stanford points out that the choice between diesel and electric driven equipment is not always an easy one as there are mitigating arguments for both. “End-users have to weigh up the pros and cons. In addition to comparing the cost of diesel versus electricity, a number of other variables such as job site location, infrastructure availability as well as project duration, must also all be factored into the calculations.”

“We, therefore, strongly encourage customers to do their research and understand the challenges presented by each job and application in order to determine what would be the best, most cost-effective and sustainable solution. To assist customers, we have developed a TTC calculator that is easily accessible on our website which can be used to carry out a number of calculations to help find the most optimal solution - electric or diesel.”

Equipped with a zero emission, low-noise motor, and available in fixed-speed and variable speed drive, the E-Air electric compressor will potentially be the most efficient and more cost-effective source of compressed air for job sites with access to electric power supply. The low-noise, zero-emission power unit is also suitable for enclosed spaces and noise sensitive environments, ensuring operator safety and comfort, and a reduced carbon footprint. For large open spaces and remote locations with no access to a power grid, the diesel air compressor would be the most suitable.

Stanford adds that Power Technique’s technicians are kept up to date with the latest technologies and product innovations, ensuring effective after-sales service and support.
