Company Announcement - The CP6748EX offers ultimate power, high quality and excellent ergonomics to professionals working in ATEX explosive hazardous environments. Chicago Pneumatic has launched its new CP6748EX, ATEX certified (94/9/EC and 99/92/EC) and IP6 rated, industrial duty ½” impact wrench. The wrench’s design, with ATEX classification I M2 / II 2GD c IIB 85°C X, provides a higher level of protection against accidental ignition of flammable gasses and dust in both above and below ground environments. The new CP6748EX combines the benefits of ATEX safety with efficiency, ergonomics, and advanced design to provide a tool for use in hazardous areas which is unmatched in the industry today. 

With an ultimate torque of 800 ft-lbs. [1,085Nm] and 1,200 blows per minute, the CP6748EX will meet or exceed industrial or heavy maintenance operations’ needs in the oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, and minerals processing industries, in addition to food and grain processing.

The CP6748EX delivers superior durability and features not found in similar tools. Durability is maximized thanks to the steel clutch housing, and motor components manufactured from the highest quality plain steel. In addition, return on investment is increased by incorporating reversible end plates and by the use of an oil bath twin hammer clutch mechanism which provides constant lubrication and helps reduce tool vibration.

The CP6748EX incorporates convenient features such as an easy-to-use single-handed, glove-friendly, forward/reverse switch and power regulator, friction ring retainer for rapid socket change, balanced grip and progressive teasing trigger. Compatible with Chicago Pneumatic reaction free balancers, the CP6748EX features an integrated suspension bail to reduce operator fatigue during repetitive operation.

Chicago Pneumatic will also be expanding its range of ATEX certified wrenches in 2015 with the addition of 3/4” and 1” drives, to provide the optimal tools for challenging industrial applications in explosive environments.
