Water and Sanitation Minister Gugile Nkwinti has appointed a new board for State-owned water infrastructure project implementer Trans-Caledon Tunnel Authority.

The board will serve until April 30, 2022.

CEO Percy Sechemane, Satish Roopa and Simphiwe Khondlo have been reappointed to the board and are joined by newly appointed members, chairperson Gerald Dumas, deputy chairperson Maemili Ramataboe, Norman Baloyi, Mollale Maponya, Greg White and Lindelwa Dlamini.

Sechemane and Roopa also served on the previous board, whose term, which started in December 2015 and was meant to end in November 2018, was extended first to February 28 and later to April 30, to allow time for the Minister and the Department of Water and Sanitation to “apply their minds to the consideration of the candidates”.

Sechemane’s term as CEO has also been extended to October 2023.
