Cell C appoints new chairperson, deputy chairperson
Telecommunications giant Cell C has appointed Kuben Pillay and Larry Nestadt to its board.
The appointments follow the recent recapitalisation of Cell C whereby telecommunication company’s Blue Label Telecoms and Net1 respectively acquired 45% and 15% of the company’s share capital.
“We are honoured to have two of South Africa’s most astute business leaders join the Cell C board at a time when the company enters a new growth path,” Cell C CEO Jose Dos Santos said in a statement.
Pillay, who previously served on the boards of several public and private companies, including Primedia, and as chairperson of the Mineworkers Investment Company, succeeds Mohammed Hariri as nonexecutive chairperson of Cell C.
Nestadt, a cofounder and former director of Investec Bank and the current chairperson of Blue Label Telecoms, will serve as nonexecutive deputy chairperson of Cell C.
