Name of the Project
Bwana Mkubwa solar photovoltaic (PV) project.

Location
The project will be built on about 150 ha on the surface of old copper tailings dams located at First Quantum Minerals’ tailings dam site in Ndola, Zambia.

Zuwa Solar will lease the tailings dams from First Quantum for about 25 years.

Project Description
The project entails the construction of an 80 MW to 120 MW solar PV plant.

The project has been developed using smart-from-the-start principles, which encourages the use of low-value and degraded land to minimise the impacts on wildlife, valuable agricultural lands, or potentially high-value commercial and residential land.
