Bureau van Dijk, the leading provider of company information, has become the first ever non-Turkish organization to become a member of Turkey’s TEID (Ethics and Reputation Society).

Gathering strength with 125 members joining since 2010, representing 15% of Turkey’s GDP between them, TEID is fast-becoming the reference organization for ethics, by guiding corporates through the creation of guideline policies for approaching ethics and integrity in business, for the benefit of all their members. Bureau van Dijk, with information of over 200 million companies, provide detailed corporate structures  to empower in-depth company research for AML, KYC and customer due diligence processes. The company information also provides links to beneficial owners with built-in intelligence on sanctions, PEPs and media to minimize risk exposure and reputation damage.

Speaking of their membership to Turkey’s TEID, Paul Costers, Area Manager Middle East & Turkey, Bureau van Dijk said: “With their corporate members representing more than 15% of Turkey's GDP and employing more than 200,000 people in 27 different sectors across the Turkish private sector, TEID can be considered as one of the biggest cross-sector business collective initiatives in Turkey. As a global company that deals responsibly in the field of company information, we are delighted to be aligned with organization that not only champions high standards of ethics, but also helps to formulate the policies that guide us and our clients when dealing with the emerging market of Turkey.”

TEID Chairman of the Board M. Selçuk Öncer added his comment regarding the Bureau van Dijk membership to the TEID Ethics and Reputation Society by saying: “I am delighted at the announcement that a global leading organization has made such a strong statement about its commitment to ethics.  Bureau van Dijk has joined TEID at a time when Turkey is emerging as a major business hub between East and West and their membership sets a precedent for prioritizing the highest of ethics standards in our trading relationships.”
