of the future

Building Energy, multinational company operating as Global Integrated IPP in the Renewable Energy Industry, will participate in the third edition of The European House - Ambrosetti’s  “South Africa – Italy Summit”, taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa, on October 18th and 19th 2016. The Italian company will be represented by Fabrizio Zago, CEO of Building Energy.

The goal of the summit is to strengthen strategic and business relationship and provide close interaction between senior decision makers and government officials. Fundamentally, to build a select community of business leaders to grow their companies in the two countries and continents.

Fabrizio Zago, CEO of Building Energy, will take part in the Summit with a speech focusing on the electricity market and related opportunities, during the session: “Cooperate in the energy sector to overcome the challenges of the future”, scheduled on  Wednesday, October 19th.  As a consequence of the fact that the clean energy market has increased in the latest two years and the investment in the renewable energy broke new records in 2015, in the future the reason solar-power generation will increasingly dominate. The development of innovative, modern and sustainable energy solutions will be a key factor to enhance the South Africa potential in terms of natural resources and his growth.

Building Energy has been present in Africa since 2012 with its offices in Cape Town, from which the company managed the development and realization of more than 17 projects renewable energy projects in South Africa and in the center of Africa - Zambia, Mali and Uganda. Among these, one of the main African projects is an 81 MW solar park in Kathu, in the Northern Cape, which is one of the biggest PV plants on the continent.

In April 2015 Building Energy was awarded preferred bidder status in the round four of South Africa’s REIPPP programme for the development of a 140 MW wind project in Roggeveld, in an area between the Northern and Western Cape Provinces and a 4.7 MW small-hydro project in Kruisvallei, in the Free State Province.  Moreover, in October 2016, the company announced a facility agreement for the construction of a 10 MW photovoltaic plant in Tororo, in Eastern Uganda, expected to generate 14GWh every year, in order to satisfy the energy needs of 36,200 people. Main projects in Middle East North Africa includes the development of two 65 MWp photovoltaic plants in Benban, Upper Egypt.
