The project will be built at PSEG Power’s existing Bridgeport Harbor Station site in Connecticut, in the US.

PSEG Power Connecticut.

Project Description
The project entails the construction of a 435 MW gas-fired combined-cycle power plant that will replace the existing coal-fired facility.

The plant will primarily run on natural gas, but also will be able to run on ultralow sulphur distillate as a backup fuel, ensuring fuel diversity and dependability. 

The proposed unit will be equipped with state-of-the-art emissions control technology and meet all applicable federal and state emissions regulations.

Jobs to Be Created
About 350 construction jobs are expected to be created from 2017 to 2019.

Twenty permanent jobs will be created.

Value
$550-million.

Duration
The project is expected to start construction this year and to be completed and supply power in June 2019.

Latest Developments
SNC-Lavalin has won a mandate of more than $22-million from PSEG Power Connecticut for its Bridgeport Harbor Station project.

SNC’s scope includes engineering and procurement support. It will also provide some key personnel to augment PSEG’s on-site construction management team.
