Electric motors generate power and torque, provide positional feedback and assist in motor operation. Electric motors include AC induction motors and DC motors. AC induction motors draw power and torque with electromagnetic induction and typically come in three-phase units. DC motors generate mechanical torque with DC voltage in lighter applications. DC motors have simpler speed controls and require less maintenance.

As a leading supplier of mechanical power transmission equipment throughout Southern Africa, BMG plays a major role in keeping the wheels of industry turning. High quality world-renowned brands, like Fenner, Tsubaki, Esco, Gates and Rexnord, enable BMG to design and optimise durable power transmission solutions - which deliver extended service life - within time and cost constraints.

BMG has its own design teams for mechanical power transmission drives, which are suitable for many industrial applications. BMG engineers and product specialists at BMG service centres (with the backing of global suppliers) offer technical advice and solutions to customers, providing support from the beginning to the end of every project. BMG's power transmission expertise integrates drive belts, couplings, chain, backstops, pulleys and agriculture components.
