New to Bearing Man Group’s (BMG’s) port-
folio of power transmission components are locally manufactured and environment-
friendly Go chain wax lubricants suitable for industrial chain
applications.

BMG power transmission chain division manager Scott Larson says that the lubricants, which are the only wax and water emulsion lubricants on the market, feature enhanced lubrication qualities.

“Go chain wax lubricants have the ideal viscosity to penetrate all areas of the chain, as they stay on the chain longer than con-
ventional lubricants, reject dirt to keep the chain cleaner and significantly extend the chain life,” he says.

An important feature of the Go chain wax lubricants is that they are suitable for chain applications that previously could not be lubricated.

“The specially formulated wax and additives, which are able to withstand extreme pressures over extended lubrication intervals, are effective in environments with a high density of airborne dirt and dust, such as cement plants, saw mills, the mining sector and agriculture. The lubricants are also suitable for cranes, hoists and conveyor chains,” he adds.

The high wax content and solvent-free formulation of these
lubricants ensure that the chain runs cleaner in contaminated, heavy-duty environments, while providing exceptional lubrication in the links and rollers.

“Go chain wax lubricants are not sticky or oily in texture and are, therefore, easy to apply. It also does not attract and hold dirt and contaminants like conventional lubricants. No grinding paste is formed during operation, which means the chain can run with less friction for increased performance and an extended working life,” says Larson.

The lubricants also repel water, enabling efficient performance in wet applications, while corrosion is also significantly reduced. The lubricants are 100% biodegradable within a 40- to 50-day period.

“Unlike waxes packaged in high-pressure aerosol cans, these lubricants are nonflammable and are safe to use in hazardous areas. There is also less wastage and any spillage is easily cleaned with a dry cloth,” says Larson.

Once the lubricants have been applied, no degreasing is necessary. Continuous applications can be done without having to clean the chain because excess wax expelled by the chain does not attract dirt.
It hardens slightly and falls off during operation. In extreme dirt applications, cleaning with a dry brush is adequate, unlike with conventional lubricants that require lengthy cleaning procedures.

Go chain wax lubricants are available nationally from BMG’s extensive branch network, which offers a technical advisory ser-
vice on correct chain and lubrication selection and care.
