With occupation expected in March 2019, the finishing touches are being put to Infinité, Bedfordview’s stylish new, high-rise residential development which has risen out the ground in a prime location opposite Eastgate shopping centre in Johannesburg.

Following a rapid sell-out of all 100 units in phase one, now only 15 apartments remain available for sale in the second and final phase of a further 100 units in this upmarket, 10-storey residential development, says Nelson Ferreira, Pam Golding Properties area principal for Johannesburg East.

“The uptake of the sectional title units in Infinité has remained brisk, despite the economic slowdown. As a suburb and residential destination, Bedfordview is consistently in demand from home buyers, arguably more so than other nearby areas.”

The remaining units comprise 13 two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments priced from R2.2 million to R2.8 million, and two penthouse apartments comprising three bedrooms and three bathrooms, each with a private rooftop terrace and garden with panoramic views across Johannesburg, priced between R5.3 million and R5.7 million. All the one-bedroom apartments have already sold out.

With 20 penthouses in total, the other 18 were among the first units eagerly snapped up by buyers acquiring the luxury apartments mainly as their primary residences.

Each unit in the building includes a Bosch fridge, freezer, gas hob, electric oven, convection hood, dishwasher, washing machine and quality finishes, as well as hansgrohe fittings. There are also three basement levels of parking bays for residents and visitors, a swimming pool, clubhouse, gym, lobby with concierge and two meeting rooms.

Says Ferreira: “Buyers to date are a mix of purchasers from South Africa, the rest of Africa and internationally – from the likes of Abu Dhabi in the UAE and Portugal.

“Our buyers from outside South Africa tend to visit every three months or so on business, and they preferred a hassle-free, luxury residence in a convenient location such as Infinité, which is in close proximity to OR Tambo International Airport and the business hub in Sandton, rather than stay in a hotel. Others are visiting family, while most of our local buyers are purchasing for permanent residence or as a sound buy-to-let investment.

“Locals are mostly those relocating from a spacious house with gardens and all the maintenance and other costs associated with owning a freehold property, once their children have left home. Apart from these and other lock-up-and-go benefits, they are also attracted by the security features offered by Infinité.

“It’s evident that this new development has become a catalyst for new development in the suburb of Bedfordview, as at least six developers are currently showing high interest in future residential developments, which underlines the appeal of this as a highly sought after area and augurs well for the residential property market, including rentals.”

Bedfordview has easy access to the M1, N12, R24 and N3, with good schools, restaurants, sports facilities and hospitals on hand.

Final completion of Infinité is on track for February next year (2019), with landscaping of the grounds also currently under way.
