Company Announcement - Bearings International’s recent investment in two new hi-reach forklifts extends and streamlines the company’s warehouse capabilities for enhanced service delivery to customers.

The 5000m2 warehouse at the company’s Boksburg headquarters makes use of drive-through pallet racking system. “Our current forklift fleet had difficulties in reaching the top shelves which, at a height of 13m, is one of the highest racking systems in the country,” explains warehouse manager, Denis de Kock.

“In addition to reaching top racks quickly, safely and easily, the new forklifts also have a higher load or lifting capacity of 2 tons. This enables us to pick product and stock quicker and to handle more weight per pick. We are expecting our turnaround time to improve even further.” De Kock adds that the company’s forklift operators have been given the necessary specialised training to ensure optimum and safe operation of the machines.

Bearings International always strives to be preferred supplier of turnkey up-stream, in-stream and down-stream engineering solutions to contribute to optimising turnaround time and plant availability for customers. “As a customer-orientated company, our customers are our partners,” confirms Managing Director, Robin Briggs. “For us it is always all about the customer. As foremost supplier of premium product brands to Southern African mining, quarrying, heavy industry and agriculture, we don’t just sell bearing, power transmission and Bauer electric and geared motor brands off-the-shelf, we provide end-to-end solutions.”

Briggs points out that the best solution is not just about providing world-class premium brand products. “We look at a customer’s entire plant to determine the best solution for a particular application and here service and after-sales service play an equally important role. We add value through on-time delivery of products as well as continued support through quick turnaround of parts and spares to optimise our customers’ equipment operation so they benefit from increased plant uptime and production.”

Bearings International’s premium brand product range covers general and specialist bearings and accessories; transmission and conveyor chains; gearboxes and geared motors; electric motors and variable frequency/speed drives; couplings, pulleys, vee- and wedge-belts; oil seals, conveyor belts, industrial hoses as well as industrial adhesives, hand cleaners and lubricants for a wide spectrum of applications across mining, quarrying, general industry and agriculture.

Bearings International’s over 50-strong interconnected local as well as cross border branch network which includes four franchises, is the company’s route to market. “Our customers can call our hotline number: 083 250 1919 24/7 to obtain information on the nearest branch, stock availability, delivery and collection time as well as maintenance support,” concludes Briggs.
