British American Tobacco South Africa and Sasol yesterday received the ‘Best Sustainability Report’ reward, at the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) South Africa Sustainability Reporting Awards 2004.

Hillside Alluminium, the MTN group and African Bank Investment Limited also received commendations.

The winners were announced at a ceremony held at the Apartheid Museum yesterday.

“These organisations recognise that public environmental, social and sustainability reporting is the means by which they can demonstrate their accountability, integrity and transparency. This includes openly addressing problems and then following through with corrective action measures as well as integrating stakeholder feedback,” said Nirri Nair, Head of ACCA South Africa.
