An Alstom-Bombardier consortium has won a contract to supply a European rail traffic management system (ERTMS) and provide 20 years of maintenance services for a 56-km-long suburban line linking L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and Mataró, in Barcelona.

Alstom’s share of the contract is valued at €38.5-million and Bombardier’s share €34.2-million.

The Alstom-led consortium will deliver the design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of the signalling communication systems.

Alstom will implement its Atlas 200 ERTMS Level 2 solution for the entire line. Bombardier is responsible for the electronic interlocking system.
