AVEVA India organised an internal AVEVA event on 13 October which coincided with the visit of their Non-Executive director and company Chairman , Philip Aiken and their deputy CEO, James Kidd. This event  opened with a speech from the well-known and respected “voice of Indian Cricket” Harsha Bhogle. Harsha Bhogle and his wife, Anita, were the external motivational speakers for the event. They spoke in detail about their series "The Winning Way-Learnings from sport”.

This motivational speech focused on the parameters that are otherwise overlooked in everyday working life. It was a successful experience which enabled each of the employees to sit back and rediscover their passion for excellence through the medium of sport.

The discussion was centred around how sports champions and winning teams handle issues like teambuilding, leadership, execution and goal-setting. It also examined what  winning teams do, what makes winning teams, who are good leaders and why certain teams keep winning, and others experience shortlived success. The event was a great success with the young AVEVA workforce, exemplified by employees’ comments such as “Harsha Bhodle, correlating sports with our world of technology and relating the challenges a sportsman faces to the challenges faced by us, was the real essence of the speech. The success stories he shared are invaluable to us”.

AVEVA first entered the Indian market in the mid-1990s and has had a regional  presence since 2000. AVEVA has since expanded its Technology Centre of Excellence in Hyderabad from a mere  29 employees in 2010, to 445 employees today.

A key component of AVEVA’s product development strategy, the centre currently has over 380 employees in development, testing, solution delivery and support, all of which form an integral part of AVEVA’s Solution and Technology activities across the globe. It accounts for almost 20% of AVEVA’s global workforce. India is one of the strongest growth regions for AVEVA, both in terms of continuously increasing its customer base, and also in terms of the strong investment in Research & Development facilities.
