Company Announcement - Availon, the leading independent wind turbine O&M service provider, announced today that it has passed the 1,000MW milestone for servicing Vestas turbine technology. This achievement underpins Availon’s unmatched expertise in Vestas technology in the market of independent O&M service providers.

Availon has started providing O&M services for Vestas turbines in 2009. To support this service, the German ISP has established a center of excellence for Vestas technology in Hamburg, where it continuously develops new upgrades and optimization strategies to enhance the performance of all operating Vestas turbines that Availon has under contract. Over the years, Availon has also built up a reliable international supply chain, which helps to ensure the highest possible operation performance of its customers’ turbines.

“Our team combines very experienced wind turbine engineers, who know the Vestas’ technology inside out, with highly trained and skilled technicians who operate in the field. Our superior degree of expertise is what is giving us the edge in the competitive international wind O&M markets.” said Michael Richter, Global Sales Manager for Availon.

Availon’s expertise covers a broad range of Vestas turbines, including the V47, V52, V66, V80 and V90. Availon has also developed key competences in servicing turbines equipped with the Vestas Gridstreamer™ system, the latest Vestas converter technology. The company has recently signed the first full service contract for Gridstreamer™ wind turbines, and expects to rapidly increase the portfolio of turbines equipped with that particular technology.

“Reaching the 1,000MW milestone truly shows that Availon is the leading international O&M ISP for the Vestas technology. We are very pleased to see that our customers show a very high degree of satisfaction for the quality of the service we provide them with. In addition, a large number of the contracts we currently have in place are running up to the 20th year of operation. This long term approach gives us strong stability, as well as the ability to continue to invest heavily in the development of our industry leading capabilities for servicing Vestas wind turbines. ”, commented Richter.
