Company Announcement - Aussie Pumps has launched a new 3,000 psi engine drive pressure cleaner designed to set a new standard in cleaning power and value for money. Called the Aussie 30 Scud, the new machine will change the way farmers, civil contractors and even tradies think of portable engine drive pressure cleaners. Designed for Australian conditions, the machine is a breakthrough in terms of performance and price.  “We call it a ‘pocket battleship’,” said Aussie Pumps Product Manager, Hamish Lorenz.  “The machine packs more punch yet uses substantially less horsepower than other 3,000 psi machines on the market,” he said. The new Scud 30 is built tough for Australian users in a compact well designed “Scud” frame trolley with four big 10” pneumatic tyres and steel wheels.   Using the Scud principle of “design follows not only function but also emotion” the unit is attractive in appearance but robust and designed to be “bulletproof”. “The 3,000 psi pressure provides real whack and achieves cleaning tasks with less water than conventional machines of the same size.  That saves water, horsepower, petrol and of course the operator’s time,” said Lorenz. The heart of the machine is a “Big Berty” Bertolini triplex pump developing 3,000 psi performance from a dynamite Honda 6½ HP petrol engine.   The machine is backed by Aussie’s ‘3 + 3’ warranty with Honda’s 3 years engine warranty matched by Bertolini’s 3 year pump end warranty.

Like all Aussie pressure cleaners the new Scud 30 comes with loads of extras to get the job done.  Standard equipment includes 10 metres of top quality high pressure Aussie water blaster hose, a top quality 4,000 psi rated gun and an Aussie Vario lance.  The machine is also fitted as standard with “ASP” (Aussie Safety Protection) kit that includes a thermal dump to prevent damage from extended bypass operation. A safety valve that protects both machine and operator from pressure spikes is also part of the kit. The machine offers integrated detergent injection to speed the cleaning process. It enables the operator to apply non caustic cleaning chemicals to the job at low pressure and then to blow the dissolved dirt or grease off at a full 3,000 psi pressure.

“We partnered up with Honda for this model because of our “Global Partnership” arrangement.  We get huge support from Honda on our export sales with an unbeatable network of service stations not just in Australia and the Pacific but in our many export markets as well,” said Lorenz. Safety is a big issue and Aussie has made sure that the machine complies with the new Safety Pressure Cleaner Standards for Class A machines.  The Scud frame lends itself to safety with virtually no sharps on the machine.  The unique Scud design allows the easy application of a range of labour saving and safer accessories.  The machine is available in three versions.  The standard version comes with a 10 metre high pressure hose but versions 2 and 3 offer high pressure hose reels as standard equipment. Hose reels make cleaning safer by storing high pressure hose on the machine when not in use. Hose is a major obstacle in the workplace.  Correctly stored hose on the reels also extends hose life as abrasion and wear is minimised.   Statistics show that 90% of pressure cleaning injuries are generated by high pressure hose failures. Turbolances that build the effective working pressure of the machine up to 4,800 psi are an essential and low cost option. A grit blast kit is also available as well as telescopic lances that extend reach up to 6 metres and flat surface cleaners.

“One of the best things about the new Scud 30 is with our projected volumes we can bring this machine in with a list price of under $2,000.  At that price the machine represents phenomenal value for a blaster that is built without compromise in features or user benefits,” said Lorenz. Further information including specification and price details are available from Aussie Pumps distributors, blaster specialist service shops and the Aussie Pump website www.aussiepumps.com.au
