Company Announcement - Aurecon is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Country Manager, Carlos Seara, who will be responsible for overseeing all of the company’s business operations in Angola from 1 March 2016. Seara, who has over two decades of experience in the engineering industry, almost ten of these with Aurecon, will be taking over from Tony Barreto dos Santos who is currently fulfilling this role. Barreto dos Santos will retire at the end of the year after a successful,
16-year career with the company.
A materials technologist by profession, with a bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Malawi, Seara has specialised in working with open-graded asphalt and porous asphalt wearing courses using SBS and SBR modified bitumen, and was involved in the Strategic Highway Research Program in Portugal. He has also worked in different countries across Africa, including Angola, Malawi and Swaziland.
“I believe that Seara’s energetic, highly capable approach to handling complex challenges as well as his financial acumen in dealing with multifaceted projects and their diverse cultural involvement, will be of great benefit to our clients in ensuring that the services we offer are highly competitive and produce the results we all aspire to,” says José Miranda, Aurecon’s Regional Manager Africa West Coast.
