Company Announcement - Atlas Copco’s OSC range of condensate separators for compressed air systems delivers high performance, versatility and low maintenance. The use of the latest and most innovative lubricants is not always enough to meet the ever more stringent environmental regulations. Using a revolutionary and patented process of oleophilic and active filtration, Atlas Copco’s condensate separators provide customers with advanced technology that meets these strict environmental regulations head on.

Atlas Copco South Africa’s Business Line Manager - Industrial Air Division, Charl Ackerman, says that the OSC condensate separator range is the broadest and most comprehensive ever offered by Atlas Copco. “The range consists of eight models and can accommodate compressed air systems from 35 l/s (74 cfm) through to 2360 l/s (4984 cfm).”

According to Ackerman, simplicity is one of the product’s key features. “The installation requires only a roughly flat surface, the set-up is uncomplicated and there are no restrictions on the drain type used upstream of the unit.”

The patented filtration process enables almost all condensate mixtures to be separated, including most emulsions and, unlike most other systems, over-sizing is unnecessary when faced with synthetic oil based condensates. Ackerman also points out that compulsory regular testing is a thing of the past. “The maintenance indicator tells the customer exactly when to change the filters - a quick, easy and clean operation.”

The range also offers a series of practical and tangible advantages above and beyond the traditional gravity-based systems, including:

• A very stable separation performance throughout filter lifetime;
• No standing, stagnant water which eliminates health risks;
• Large capacity chambers reduce the risk of spillage through blockage or any sudden

   increases in condensate flow;

• No oil collection bottle - already separated condensate cannot be ruined in the event of

  a malfunction and multiple oil condensate can be separated, along with condensate 
  from multiple sources
