Company Announcement - Pedestrian Door Solutions specialists, ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, recently came to the assistance of Dimension Data with the supply of, not door solutions this time, but burglar bars! “When it came to our attention that Dimension Data required the installation of burglar bars at their The Campus office park in Bryanston, Johannesburg, we immediately looked at how we could assist our customer. This despite the fact that, as specialists in entrance solutions, burglar bars fall outside our scope of supply,” says ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems Managing Director, André Aiton.
ASSA Abloy, situated on Johannesburg’s West Rand, has been Dimension Data’s preferred door systems supplier for a number of years. “We have supplied and installed more than 60 energy-efficient Besam door systems at The Campus as part of an upgrade and extension project which involved the replacement of the original manual doors with automated sliding doors,” explains Aiton. He adds that all the automated doors also had to be linked to the existing access control system to all the existing entrances.
With aesthetics, efficiency and environmental friendliness in one neat package, the Besam unislide Bi-Parting sliding doors presented the perfect solution to Dimension Data. “By opening and closing only when a person needs to enter or exit, these automated door systems eliminate unnecessary air infiltration into the controlled air-conditioned environments, allowing the air-conditioners to operate at maximum efficiency, thus consuming less electricity. The automated door systems also enhance safety and security at The Campus. The doors open with radar during the day to cater for heavy traffic and switches to an access control system after-hours.
Besam is a well-known and proven international entrance systems brand that delivers secure, comfortable access without detracting from the aesthetics of buildings. These systems are extensively specified for a wide range of facilities that demand security conscious, customer-friendly, reliable and attractive door opening systems such as medical clinics, shopping centres, malls, banks, airports, hotels, fast food chains, casinos, etc.
In order to ensure optimum energy-savings and prolong the product’s life cycle, Aiton recommends that the equipment is installed, regularly inspected, maintained and serviced by trained and authorised technicians. “Having a preventative maintenance program in place will ensure continued proper, safe operation of the Besam equipment. We are able to offer our customers a complete, professional, fast and efficient service package with ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems Maintenance Programs and service-friendly design features, supported by our professional team of service technicians who provide a professional 24 hour, country-wide after-sales service,” concludes Aiton.
