JSE-listed ArcelorMittal South Africa on Friday announced the resignation of its CFO Kobus Verster, who will join engineering and construction group Aveng as financial director.

The steelmaker said that it would appoint its GM of controlling, Rudolph Torlage, as its acting CFO, until the board had named a new finance chief in due course.

Verster would leave ArcelorMittal South Africa on August 23, and take up the position at the Aveng group on September 1.

Verster joined the then Iscor, which later became ArcelorMittal South Africa, in 1990 and has held a number of senior roles in financial management with the group.

The Aveng group also announced that Grinaker-LTA acting MD Eugene Erasmus would now take up the permanent position at Grinaker-LTA.

Erasmus has headed numerous business units within Grinaker-LTA over the past 30 years.
