SMS Meer - Anhul Tianda puts expanded PQF plant into service_20131209  (0.17 MB)

Anhui Tianda Oil Pipe in Anhui Province, China, has expanded and re-commissioned its existing PQF® plant supplied by SMS Meer, Germany. Until now, the plant was producing seamless tubes with an outside diameter of up to 10 3/4". With the expanded plant Anhui Tianda can produce tubes with an outside diameter of up to 13 3/8".

Included in SMS Meer's scope of supply are twelve new PQF® stands, the engineering, the requisite tooling, the mathematical model and the calibration.

Anhui Tianda Oil Pipe has been operating a PQF® plant from SMS Meer since 2007. Only minimal adjustments were required to install the new stands in the existing rolling mill.

“These new PQF® stands from SMS Meer have enabled us to expand our product mix. We can now produce seamless tubes with greater diameters and to extremely good quality standards,” says Zhang Chun Xiang, Technical Director at Anhui Tianda.

“This means we are in a perfect position to offer our customers just what they want.”
