Anglo sells Tarmac unit to Holcim for $230m

Global mining giant Anglo American on Friday announced its intention to sell ready-mix concrete and aggregate supplier Tarmac Iberia to Holcim Spain for up to $230-million.

Tarmac Iberia’s primary markets in the greater Madrid, Mediterranean coast and Catalonia areas and in 2007 reported net sales of $284-million.

Completion of the transaction was expected to take place by September 2008, and was subject to regulatory approval.
