Privately owned property development company Amdec Group is developing a R1.2-billion mixed-use property at the gateway to Cape Town’s waterfront.

Known as The Yacht Club, the development would comprise residential, hotel and office space, adjacent to the V&A Waterfront and near the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

On completion, set for mid-2017, it was expected to be the biggest development of its kind in the Roggebaai precinct, joining the existing developments of Harbour Bridge Hotel & Suites and Canal Quays apartments.

“The Yacht Club Office Suites are ideal for businesses with links to the node’s multitude of financial or maritime corporates, the travel and tourism industries, as well as retail, conferencing, entertainment and the arts, project developer Amdec Property Development joint MD Nicholas Stopforth said.

The residential base of the development would feature a range of apartments with one-bedroom, two-bedroom and luxury corner apartments, ranging from 54 m2 to 95 m2.

Stopforth noted that the development had the potential to include a hotel and associated serviced apartments as negotiations with a well-known international hotel group were advanced in this regard.
