Telecommunications company Altech Fleetcall, which was established in 1993, is a provider of trunking, push-to-talk, digital mobile radios for the transport, mining, security and emergency services industries. The company was acquired by Altech in March 2009 and is based at 1282 Heuwel Avenue, in Centurion.

It offers national, multi-regional and local service coverage and currently employs 41 people. Altech Fleetcall’s site area is 864 m2, and the ownership of land is leased from Blend Properties. Altron is a shareholder of the company, which makes an estimated turnover of R65-million.

Altech Fleetcall, which is an Independent Communications Authority of South Africa licensed national trunked radio operator, has a fixed assets value of around R1.25-million. Major contracts from Prasa, eThekwini and Ekurhuleni have been awarded to the company over the last few months.

It is also the preferred supplier for Hytera Digital Radios in Africa and achieved a Level 2 broad-based black economic-empowerment contribution. Altech Fleetcall’s digital mobile radio, which is the latest technology to be launched in South Africa, has seen 500% growth over the last four years in the Middle East and African markets.
