In his new role, Madanda will be responsible for strategy and operations, while he will also lead the BMC team as they explore growth opportunities for the company.

Madanda has more than 20 years’ experience in railway engineering.

He started his career at Transnet Freight Rail and later joined the Gautrain team during the construction phase.

His academic credentials include a BSc in electronic engineering and a master’s degree in engineering management, among others.

“I am excited to lead a competent and capable multidisciplinary team at BMC,” says Madanda.

For the aboveground sections, BMC’s responsibility includes the automatic fare collection systems; the communication systems that incorporates radio, CCTV, fibre, telephone, PIS, SCADA and PAVA; and the maintenance of way and workshop equipment.
