Alligin and Vorlich satellite fields development.
Location
The projects are located in the North Sea, off the coast of north-west Europe. Alligin is located in the Greater Schiehallion Area, about 140 km west of Shetland. Vorlich is located about 241 km east of Aberdeen.
Client
Alligin – BP is the operator (50%) and Shell (50%). Vorlich – BP is the operator (66%) and Ithaca Energy (34%).
Project Description
Alligin and Vorlich are expected to produce 30 000 bbl/d gross of oil equivalent at peak production. Alligin, a two-well development, will be tied back to BP’s Glen Lyon floating, production, storage and offloading vessel.
Vorlich, also a two-well development, will be tied back to the Ithaca Energy-operated FPF-1 floating production facility, which is situated at the centre of Ithaca’s Greater Stella Area production hub.

Latest Developments
BP has awarded a major contract for the Alligin development to Subsea 7, which will provide project management, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the subsea pipelines.
Subsea 7 will deliver the contract from its Aberdeen base with offshore activities expected to get under way in 2019.
Meanwhile, BP has submitted its environ-mental statement for the Vorlich development to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and is finalising its contracting strategy for the development.
