Ainsworth Engineering, of Gauteng, is a  manufacturer of valves.

The wholly South African-owned company, which  boasts a 7 000-m2 factory at 44 Harry street, Robertsham, Johannesburg, has been in operation since 1943 and currently employs 80 people.

The company, which has acquired ISO 9001:2000 certification, turns over about R47-million a year, and its order book currently stands at R23-million.

In the recent past, the company was awarded major contracts by Johannesburg Water, Rand Water, the former Department of Water Affairs and Forestry and mining giant Anglo Platinum. It has also supplied valves to Swaziland’s Lusip dam.
