The 9th Edition of Africa Aerospace and Defence will take place 14th to 18th September 2016 at Air Force Base Waterkloof, Centurion, City of Tshwane, South Africa.

Held biennially, AAD is the premier aerospace and defence exhibition on the African continent. The show has continued to grow and attract more exhibitors with each edition, and will once again bring together some of the world’s major industry players to showcase the latest technological innovations in land, sea and air capabilities.
AAD is coordinated in partnership by the SA Aerospace Maritime and Defence Industry Association, which represents more than 80 local industry players, the Department of Defence and Military Veterans, the Commercial Aviation Association of Southern Africa and Armscor.

The AAD Partners and the Chairperson of Africa Aerospace and Defence 2016, Ms Mpho Jivhuho invites members of the media to mark the start of Africa’s premier defence and aerospace exhibition. The 2016 theme is “Unlocking Africa’s Aerospace & Defence Potential” and AAD will, no doubt, be an important barometer of the growth potential of the defence and aviation sectors on the continent. The 2014 AAD attracted more than 100 000 visitors to the three trade days and the air show and open days on the weekend. Expectations are that this year’s show will exceed these figures, including a record number of exhibitors and visiting delegations.

The event on 11 August will start the countdown to AAD2016 and includes the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Africa Aerospace and Defence Exhibition, Gauteng Growth and Development Agency (GGDA) and the Gautrain.
