Uniline DL series lasers
Afgen has designed, manufactured and marketed laser systems for mining, tunnelling and industrial uses for over 25 year. The Uniline DL Series of alignment lasers are the culmination of their experience in manufacturing lasers for the demanding conditions usually experienced in tunnel and mine development. These units utilise the most advanced laser diode technology combined with a superb lens system. The result is a well collimated beam of red laser light, producing a well defined “spot”, which can be used 24 hours a day at distances of up to 1000 m as an accurate reference for tunnel and mine development. The units are small, portable and rugged with long battery life and low power consumption. Three models are available depending on the distance required and prevailing conditions in the working environment. There is a choice of easy-to-use mounting systems: universal roof/wall mounts, suspended hooks, tube and rail alignment mounts. The universal roof/wall mount is designed for development ends, drifts and tunnels, where line and/or grade are required. The suspended hooks, an Afgen invention, are used for quick and accurate suspension of the laser between survey spads or other points on the roof.
Precision satellite surveying
The Altus Positioning Systems APS-3 is a high precision satellite receiver and communications unit specifically designed for the surveying market. It uses the AsteRx2 GNSS engine from Septentrio which measures both GPS and Glonass constellations for robust and accurate satellite positioning. The advanced receiver technology includes Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring, Multipath Estimation, and a standard output rate up to 10 Hz. With the internal radio designed into each product, any unit may be configured as a local base station to transmit corrections for RTK surveys without any change in hardware. Surveyors have a choice of communications options that include: a GSM/GPRS modem for connecting to Real Time Reference Station Networks, a choice of either digital Spread Spectrum (900 MHz) or digital UHF (450 - 470 MHz) radios for local data transmissions, or the option to use an external radio through a serial port. For ultra portability and data management, the product logs raw data onto a removable SD card that is accessed easily through a convenient door. Integrated Bluetooth provides cable-free operation for use with a pole-mounted data collection system with the ease of use and portability required for survey/GIS applications.
