DB Schenker South Africa was chosen following a survey of 22 of the largest international logistics service providers, as it would best support Aerosud’s current and future logistics requirements.
This is a powerful partnership. Aerosud is the largest privately owned Aerospace manufacturing company in South Africa supplying components to the major aircraft Original Equipment Manufacturers such as Boeing and Airbus. DB Schenker is the world’s second largest logistics service provider.
In the cost-driven global aerospace market, this partnership will ensure an efficient, reliable and cost effective solution to both inbound and outbound logistics for Aerosud. These are vital elements when it comes to Aerosud’s ability to remain competitive.
“Logistics can spell the difference between success and failure in business. That is why we put in a lot of time and effort to make sure that we partner with the best,” says Johan Steyn, Aerosud Aviation Managing Director.
“DB Schenker redesigned systems to provide more effective support for our corporate strategies, and has taken steps to ensure continued appraisal of opportunities over the long run. They have provided our company with a distinct transport cost advantage over their chief competitor, which will enable us to compete in this international market.”
“We are excited about our partnership with Aerosud Aviation which advances our presence in the South African Aerospace industry. We also have the opportunity to bring global best practice, from our worldwide Aerospace logistics systems to South Africa in close cooperation with Aerosud,” says Denzil Nair, DB Schenker South Africa CEO.
Aerosud’s international customers will gain value from the sustained reliability and cost benefits brought to the partnership by DB Schenker South Africa.
