Project Description
The Adjarala project is transboundary project on the Mono river where Togo and Benin meet.
The project includes the construction of an earth and rockfill dam with an average height of nearly 40 m and a total length of 3 700 m.
It includes the hydropower station installation, with a total capacity of 147 MW, and the erection of corresponding transmission lines.

Value
The project is estimated at $550-million and will be assured by a loan from Exim Bank of China.

Duration
The project is expected to take four years to complete.

Latest Developments
The foundation stone for the project was laid in December 2015.
