Local business solution provider One Channel has launched the highly-anticipated release of Acumatica 6 in Africa. The latest release of Acumatica's cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution features useful new product and technology enhancements.

Acumatica is the leading global provider of flexible, easily-deployed business management software for mid-sized to enterprise businesses. The latest version includes a universal Microsoft Outlook add-in, dashboard enhancements and Key Performance Indicator widgets.

One Channel CEO Bernard Ford says Acumatica’s unique mobile solution already enables customers to view complete information anywhere, anytime, helping them to run the business from any location. “We can’t wait to implement the newest enhancements in Acumatica 6 – we believe it will bring significant advantages to businesses in Africa.”

One of the many new benefits found in Acumatica 6 includes integrated CRM. Acumatica's add-in for Microsoft Outlook allows customers to view details on lead and contact records that already exist in Acumatica ERP, create new leads and contacts inside Microsoft Outlook, and customise the appearance of the Acumatica ribbon button in accordance with a company's branding.

Ford points to the stunning dashboards with a large selection of visualisations, pivot tables and Microsoft Power BI. "The management and configuration of dashboards have been significantly enhanced in Acumatica ERP 6, making it far more convenient to add new dashboards, manage existing dashboards, and configure widgets on dashboards, even from mobile devices."

With this release, Acumatica is the first ERP provider to support embedded Microsoft Power BI components and is now the first to make Microsoft Outlook add-in commercially available, just as it was the first to provide Microsoft Office 365 integration.

Acumatica 6 also introduces a new, contract-based representational state transfer (REST) application programming interface (API), which uses the same endpoints and contracts as the contract-based Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) API introduced in Acumatica ERP 5.3. The REST API makes it very easy to create and test requests directly from a web browser without the custom libraries or special wrappers required for the SOAP API.

Acumatica ERP delivers adaptable cloud and mobile technology with a unique all-inclusive user licensing model, enabling customers to obtain a complete real-time view of their business anytime, anywhere. Through its worldwide network of partners, Acumatica provides a full suite of integrated business management applications, including financials, distribution, manufacturing, project accounting and CRM.

“At Acumatica, we are committed to midmarket customers and partners, whose rapid growth requires flexible, scalable, cost-effective tools,” said Jon Roskill, CEO of Acumatica. “Acumatica 6’s substantial technical improvements further our pragmatic performance, mobility, and integration capabilities.”

Acumatica 6 is available immediately, it marks the beginning of the process of a ‘continuous release’ cycle for updates, which will be delivered as they are completed directly to users.
